“Buñuel in the Labyrinth of the Turtles” is the first feature film we worked on. We joined the Digital Ink & Paint stage.
The film adapts the homonymous comic by Fermín Solís, telling the story of how was the filming in the Extremadura region of Las Hurdes, by maestro Luis Buñuel, of his film “Las Hurdes, tierra sin pan”, in 1933. The story it began in Paris in 1930. Salvador Dalí and Luis Buñuel are the main figures of the surrealist movement, but Buñuel sees how all the doors are closed to him after the scandalous premiere of “The Golden Age”, his first film. However, his good friend, the sculptor Ramón Acín, buys a lottery ticket with the crazy promise that, if he wins, he will pay for the documentary that his friend wants to shoot about Las Hurdes, one of the poorest regions and forgotten from Spain.
The film is produced by Sygnatia Films, The Glow Animation Studios, Submarine B.V., Hampa Studio, and was released in 2018.
